Self-propelled machines must be equipped with roll-over protective structure (ROPS) and falling-object protective structure (FOPS). What features and certifications should this type of devices comply with?
Designing means combining performance and safety in full compliance with the current regulations. Besides that, Magni’s daily mission is to provide operators working at height with maximum comfort. As all Magni’s cabs are level 2 FOPS/ROPS certified, they have undergone specific tests, as required by the decree-law.
Our cabs meet strict criteria and must bear the CE mark in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. The general safety principle underlying this standard establishes an adequate deflection-limiting volume (DLN) .
Thus, everything which is FOPS/ROPS certified must:
- resist forces
- resist energy absorption
- resist DLN deflections
- and all ROPS machines must be equipped with restraint belts.
One of the tests to pass is the one established by the UNI EN ISO 3471:2008 standard. It is a destructive test where a nearly static load is applied to a structure until a determined force or absorbed energy is reached. The structure must avoid failure and not exceed the deflection limiting volume.
At Magni, safety at work is not enough. We want to provide the best conditions to work easily and comfortably.
Our standard adjustable seats and options, such as headrest and seat heating, provide a unique working experience. To learn more about our customisation offer, please contact your dealer or consult the option catalogue. It is available on our website in the download section.
