As explained in the article introducing our 2021 Ambassador, Magni TH decided to support the work of Vanni Oddera by bringing a smile to young patients. Here is a brief account of a truly emotional day at the Giannina Gaslini Institute in Genoa.
Monday morning, 9:00 a.m. The sun and spring-like warmth welcomed us to the Gulf of Genoa. We entered the Giannina Gaslini Institute to complete the first stage of “mototherapy at height”, thanks to our collaboration with Vanni Oddera.
In Covid time, not only swabs and personal protective equipment are needed, but also the commitment to undertake various initiatives. Our collaboration is one of these. Bearing in mind that “where there is a will, there is a way” and thanks to the Gaslini staff, Vanni Oddera, Spiderman (Mattia), Jerry, Novital and Magni Telescopic Handlers, we organised an event at height. That means we did not enter the hospital wards and fully complied with Covid regulations.
The most important objective of the day was to put a smile on the faces of young patients and to donate them a few hours of great fun.
After obtaining all the necessary permits and talking to the traffic police, our machine got into the action. Magni RTH 5.25 SH rotating telehandler, provided by Novital and equipped with a 500 kg capacity platform, made all this possible. Then Vanni Oddera, with his motorbike, Jerry and Spiderman climbed aboard the platform to greet the young patients of the Institute. In agreement with the hospital management, we decided to fence and delineate the manoeuvring areas. We also had our heroes sign self-certifications. Spiderman and the others put on a unique, surprising and high-impact show for the young patients.
Moreover, we prepared small gifts for them. We showed these children that we want to be at their side, light them up with happiness and bring a smile during the long days in hospital. Merchandago srl, Modulosei, Pelloni, Tipografia San Martino and Sorelle Baracca also contributed with their donations.
Ambitious projects deserve high-level collaborations and partnerships in order to turn dreams into reality. Good food and good company also play a role. Thus, a heartfelt thank you goes to the extraordinary cooks who fed us with linguine with pesto (Genovese, of course). It was a special day, not only for the children but also for all of us. After so much work, we had lunch in the courtyard area of the facility and saw the sea, which showed itself in all its beauty for the occasion.
