Purchasing these clothes began as a provocation because these were sold at very low prices or often by the kilo, just like with fruit and vegetables. However, this trend soon spread to collectors. This led some uniforms or accessories to fetch very high prices and become cult objects.
The case of LIDL shoes, the famous German supermarket chain, still leaves many people impressed. LIDL sold its shoes for around 10 euros. Sold out on the release day, these were resold on e-commerce sites for around 1000 euros per pair.
