Magni takes to the track at the Mexico City GP
During free practice of the Formula One Grand Prix in Mexico City, a TH Magni intervened following a fault reported by a single-seater, lifting it and bringing it safely to the pits.
The 2022 Mexico City Grand Prix was the 20th round of the 2022 Formula One World Championship season. The race was held on 30 October 2022 at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City. The event set a new record with more than 395,000 spectators.
During Friday’s free practice Pietro Fittipaldi, reserve driver at Haas in place of Kevin Magnussen, was unable to complete his programme. Due to a technical problem, he was forced to abandon the vehicle at the side of the track.
A Magni TH machine allowed to recover the car very quickly. After lifting and securing it, the single-seater was loaded onto a trailer truck in the pits.
The model involved in the recovery was a 5,5.19 TH range fixed telehandler with a maximum lifting capacity of 5.5 tonnes, a maximum height of 18.80 metres and an outreach of 14.10 metres. To hook and lift the broken-down vehicle, the machine was equipped with a 5 ton fork.
The machine was supplied by Magni authorised dealer GAM Mexico, a leading company that has been a key distribution partner in Spain, Portugal, Morocco and South America for years. With an extensive network of authorised dealers and workshops, GAM proposes the best solutions for its customers, offering complementary services including spare parts, technical assistance and training.
Although designed primarily for construction and industry, Magni machines are versatile and can operate in any context, as in this case. In fact, their 3-in-1 nature allows them to be used as a forklift, crane and man platform. In order to do so, the machine can be equipped with a wide selection of attachments depending on the task to fulfil.
