Cold is not scary with Magni
In colder climates, the machine is often put to the test and there is a risk of reduced performance and efficiency. Gustav Knutsson from Ab Kranlyft explains us the challenges of working in very low temperatures and why Magni machines are ideal for working in these conditions.
AB Kranlyft is a Magni dealer based in Mölnlycke and Grästorp in Sweden. The company offers several lifting solutions including Magni’s three ranges of fixed and rotating telehandlers. In addition to its own service and technical support team, AB Kranlift relies on seven service partners located throughout Sweden to cover the entire territory. Thus, the company can offer a faster service and provide its customers with the best support.
As Knutsson explains, during the winter, temperatures drop below zero throughout the country and there are few hours of daylight. In the north of Sweden temperatures can reach minus 30 degrees. Workers on construction sites usually only stop working when it gets down to around minus 22/23 degrees. Therefore, in such difficult conditions, machines need to be equipped to work properly even at these extremely low temperatures and in very dark environments.
“Especially when working in the north it is strongly recommended to equip the machine with the “Cold Weather Package” (OPT-02-014). This is Magni solution to continue working in these conditions,” Knutsson continues. This package includes options that are specially designed to make the machine perform at its best even at very low temperatures and in dark environments. The Cold Weather Package includes special hydraulic oil, battery cut-off, in-cab UNEL electrical plug, LED work lights on the boom and cab and the engine water heating system.
Besides this package, Magni offers a wide range of options for working in cold temperatures, from the hydraulic oil heater to heated mirrors and seats. These are the reasons why, as Knutsson confirms, “Magni is an excellent partner for working in harsh and cold climates”.
When working in these conditions the machine is not the only one that is put to the test. The operator also has to cope with the cold and wind. They must be put in the position to be able to work at their best. Thus, Magni’s cab is designed to provide full operator protection. Being fully pressurised and equipped as standard with heating system, the operator can work in maximum comfort.
Utilising a machine equipped according to working conditions allows to improve efficiency and optimise time, as it will be less subject to breakdowns and downtime. Thus, jobs can be completed in the best possible way and in the shortest possible time, which also implies a considerable reduction in extraordinary maintenance costs.
Magni provides tailor-made solutions to enable operators to work effectively in all conditions. To find out more about our Cold Weather Package and other related options, consult the catalogue and visit the product page on our website.
